Universal Audio Ships Arrow Desktop Audio Interface For Music Creators

When I think of what I had to use in the 80's, like the Tascam Portastudio, then see this... (y) How cool.
Today's musicians have no excuse, so much more in-terms of producing "good enough" quality when it comes to being able to get affordable recording systems.

Look at this brilliant product from UA.

Silent PC's... Laptop vs desktop... performance vs silence... strategies?

Currently I'm recording on my 2007 vintage laptop. It was smokin' fast and powerful in 2007 and I have no issues with performance as far as recording goes with it now -- but it's very loud as it has two internal fans that I cannot turn off.

Desktop mic records two channel...dynamic mic records one

Forums

Why I record with Fraps (or simply unmute mic) does my cheap desktop mic from Best Buy record and two channels and my AKG D5 dynamic mic only record left channel? I can switch mics while recording and it will switch between the one channel and two. The problem could be my cable connection into the sound card. My mic cable on the D5 is a xlr.

Chaining PC Laptop and Desktop for Recording? (help!)

Okay, so I've used my laptop and desktop separately for recording but I'm wondering if there's any benefit to chaining them both together. The laptop is an HP DV6 running Win7 64, Intel Core2 Duo T6600 @ 2.20 GHz, 7200 RPM SATA drive, 4 GB RAM. The desktop is a Dell Dimension 2400 running XP Pro, Version 2002 Service Pack 3, Pentium 4 @ 2.20 GHz, only 768 RAM.

Desktop mic stand w/ good weight holding and long boom

Forums

So one thing that I'd like to be able to do is have a mic stand on my desktop whose base is a few feet away from my sitting position with a boom that extends all the way toward me for singing and maybe another one for a stereo mic stand. This would be convenient for practicing and reviewing practice, or maybe for making youtube videos or something.

Homemade studio desktop?

I'm planning on building a Windows based system to mostly run Sonar 8 producer for audio production in home. I am planning on mostly using it for recording of live instruments and mastering, but I will do a bit of MIDI production too. What would you guys recommend for the CPU, motherboard, Ram, High capacity Hard Drives, case and power supply?
