Description

Double tracking or doubling is an audio recording technique in which a performer sings or plays along with their own prerecorded performance, usually to produce a stronger or bigger sound than can be obtained with a single voice or instrument.

Double hit in fresh track

I have had a Pro Tools (MBox) issue that has stiffled my progress for four days. When I create a new track and hit record enable I get a double hit. The sound could also be describes as an echo or a delay. The funny thing is that the double hit occurs only when record enable is activated. The issue persists whether a stereo or mono track and also in more than one project file.

Doubled-up tracks?

Ever doubled up a track for two totally different purposes? Let's start getting creative!

Some things I've done:

Double a vocal track, run one through a compressor, then mix the compressed track with the dry one - the original dynamics remain, but the volume never dips below a certain threshold thanks to the compressed track.
