Here's a song I've always liked; I think it's a well-written song to begin with, but I'm also intrigued by the mix.
The vocal is very forward in the mix, and with audible compression, and normally, I don't care for "that" sound, but on this track, it really works.

Haas effect - Also called the precedence effect. Delayed sounds are integrated if they fall on the ear within 20 to 40 msec of the direct sound. The level of the delayed components contributes to the apparent level of the sound.

Grazing Effect - The way in which sound is absorbed by the audience; stepping or raking the seating reduces the absorption, and improves sight lines.

Doppler effect - The apparent shift in frequency when the sound source, or the observer, is in motion.

Cocktail Party Effect - The ability of a listener to focus attention on a single talker among a mixture of crowd conversations and background noise while, at the same time, ignoring speech from other locations. Understanding is possible due to the ear / brain discrimination of unwanted sound as well as lip reading and body langauge.

I am starting to mix a new track i recorded and want some advice on how to mix and handle FX returns and routing.

I was wondering how to pan FX returns like reverb & delay. I read somewhere that in case of reverb, the wet signal should be panned to the same position as the dry signal. Is this true?

hey I've been looking into BFD 3 closely while its %50 off. When I looked on google someone in a forum said that BFD 3 samples were recorded at 44.1, so the computer has to re-sample in real time when your using it st any other sample rate in a session.

Hey all, I'm digitizing my CD collection in the next month or so. (edit technically it already is digital but, u get what I mean) This is so I can have acesso to it from anywhere, as CD players are more and more rare. Since this is archival, I want as close to an exact copy of the CD as possible, ripped inTo the computer. They have usb CD burners on Amazon for like $20.
