So far I've only been recording friends but I would like to start recording local bands...most of whom I don't know. I think it would be a good idea to get some sort of legal contract that would require the clients to pay in a certain amount of time for any equipment damaged, broken, or stolen.

I would like to know what is the name of the program used to extract samples from music already recorded. Next where can I buy the program or the machine. I want a certain sound but not the song.A web site would be fine!Next I would like to know where can I find the sounds Dr. Dre, Timbaland, and Neptunes used to make my music sound more professional?

The College in my town has opened a nice studio...good space, but, we are having a problem...the college have a Radio Station too(with the respective humoungous antenna)...the studio contractor aparently forgot to add the Faraday cage in the studio...so, the radio is coming to my equipments...and hearing in the headphones...what can i do to eliminate or minimize the radio effect in the studio?

I'm building a PC and want to know what equipment i need for recording ie.soundcard,mixers and whatever else.
I dont know much about this sort of stuff so any help would be much appreciated.

I have a series of concerts coming up that I would love some advice/opinions on recording setup. It is a concert of Tango music (All Astor Piazzolla). I have a budget of $1500-1800 to work with. I could use it to hire someone but I would rather use the budget to build my equipment collection and record the concerts using my stuff (I’m the cellist in the ensemble).

Hello People... I am an acoustic guitarist who mostly does solo albums, but sometimes I do add orchestra type sounds to the mix. Usually I record in 2 to 3 tracks only. Coming from an 8 track digital recorder and found it a little limiting as far as the tracks are concerned. I'd like to move into the DAW computer realm.
