If you are interested in compression (of the analog variety) you will be interested in Ted Fletcher's latest line of work. His latest unit 'Edward the compressor' pushes optical technology to the point where it emulates other forms of compression, (rather than the other way round).

Hey Fletcher on your web site you don't recommend the non-transformer ballanced eq from Speck. Why? I usually only eq when mixing down so do I need it transformer ballanced? Should I be eq'ing when tracking?

Your opinion about Trident-MTA "A" Range Module and Trident-MTA Series "80B" Module and comparison with Neve, Api and other famous circuits ?

I've heard that I can set the Fletcher-Munson curve for my RODE Nt1 microphone to compensate some frequencies (harshness, hi's)..

Is it true and does someone know more about this?

I've heard that those curves and settings exist for all marks of mic's..

Fletcher, You just went up two more notches of 'cool' in my book. I didn't know you were a Buddy (and Julie) Miller fan? What show were you at when you saw them?

Reading another thread I realized I haven't seen much of your opinions about reverb boxes.

I HAVE seen posts about rooms, chambers, etc... and I have seen a "..and that's why I've hated digital reverb" post.

Any suggestions for acoustically challenged tracking areas, vox dream machines, or whacky verbs?

Any MUST haves?

I was going to send tis question as a private email, but then thought others might like to know the answer as well.

What is the difference between the Avalon 737 stock version and the Mercenary version. I know one is black :cool:, which I can't decide if that is cooler or if I like the "classy" stock look, but that don't matter anyhow!
