I used my Micro BR for the first time this weekend.I use it in Mp3 mode and recorded a show from a sound board. We did a sound check on the Br and thought I had the input level ok.

Recording Vinyl --> Input level too high for my soundcard?
Hello everyone,
hope that I choose the right subforum to post my question...
Well I'm a newbie to analog sound and have bought the following equipment to rip some tracks from vinyl in a decent quality.
Input Levels - express card slot, how to re-configure the IRQ
Ok, so I really need some help here.
First let me start off by telling you what I have.
Machine - HP Pavillion Dv7 - Vista64 - 4gR - 250 SATA
Interface - M-Audio Firewire 410
Microphone(s) - MXL 990 & 991
DAW - Sony Acid Pro 7 - Ableton Live 8.0.4 - Reaper 3.103
Now let me tell you how I have it set up.
Can huge input levels harm VMP inputs?
Greets all,
I've got a VMP 2000e which I love and use every day. Sometimes I use the first ch to overdrive the 2nd ch, like with guitar, synth, etc.
What I'm wondering is: can extremely hot levels harm the inputs? My memory and experience is that they cannot be harmed by huge input levels but just want to be sure.
cheers
