fast track mk ii

I was planning to get a usb interface so I could record someone on location with a laptop (I currently own a dual core pentium 2.0, with 2gb ram and a 5400 hard disk, I know it's not nearly what's required for heavy-duty performance, but I was hoping it could at least play back a reference track and record in it with the interface).

Questions about the M-audio Fast Track mkII

Hey!

I'm quite new to audio interfaces and have quite a few questions. Right now I have a Behringer XM8500 hooked up to a eurorack UB502 and also a Scecher Omen 6 electric guitar and an M-Audio Keysation 88es via USB. So basically the eurorack is there to mix and amplify the signal of the mic and guitar to recordable level. An integrated Relteck HD sound card does the recording.

M-Aduio Fast Track or Digidesign Mbox

Hey guys. I'm looking to get one or the other of these two interfaces. How do these two interfaces differ? Which has better preamps? Which would you guys recommend? Would running PT M-Powered be that much of a loss as compared to PT LE? Which is more worth it and would be more worth it in the log run? And what is this i hear about onboard DSP?

Ableton 6 failing to recognise my M-Audio Fast Track USB

I managed to record things once or twice from my keyboard.

However, in Ableton 6, in preferences, when I set the audio input device to "Line (Fast Track) DX" or "Line (Fast Track) Wave" (whats the difference?),,,it says "Failed to open the audio input device"...

Its frustrating because I know I've recorded before, and now its not working anymore!
