MPB (música popular brasileira) is an acronym for Brazilian popular music. The term emerged in the late 1960s, coming from a generation influenced by the bossa nova style, but intended to achieve new artistic projections. In a way, it broke with the bossa-nova musical making, at the same time that it embraced him
