I've read all kinds of threads on the very acceptable nature of Nuendo for audio. But nobody ever talks about its midi capability or lack thereof? Their site talks of "virtual" midi instruments, but nothing of how the software will address a rack of midi gear?

I would like to use samples for kick and snare, but
I haven't found a system that would satisfy me.
I would like to trigger kicks and snares to midi sequencer software and then play it back in sync.
Most of the time the seq would be slave to analog 24 track.

I have local control set to off on the xv. Midi inputs are selected, I have everything working fine in my Alesis keyboard. Could there be a setting on the xv I need to change. Any help would be appreciated.

I'm setting up a Digital Performer 3 system on an G4 Titanium laptop. As a stop gap before purchasing a USB MIDI interface, I got a Belkin USB-serial adaptor.

Haven't been able to set up my MTP II to work using this interface--anyone had any experience doing this?

I recently downloaded Logic Fun, and the midi out on my keyboard is not working. The cable is brand new, and I checked the connections, they're just fine. Midi in works great. I'm using a Casio CTK-530 keyboard. Any suggestions? Thanks.

Ok, here's the disclaimer (and yes, I checked the FAQ's, and beginner's sections): I'm not a producer (never wanted to be), I'm not extremely midi savy, and I'm not the best at troubleshooting PCs. So, that being said:

I have an opportunity to purchase this board from a reputable dealer for a good price. This board is WAY more than I need. I was going to go with an Allen & Heath 16 channel Mixwizard. The Mixwizard has enough features and inputs for me, really! How does the Solo Midi compare with A & H? Are the preamps and EQ better than the Mixwizard? Or should I just go with the Mixwizard.

What's the best way to track MIDI sounds to PT and make it sounds analog?
a tube preamp? digital in?
