I've been digging into Samplitude's analog modeling suite for a few weeks now, and I can say with total confidence that it is exactly as it is described - modeling.

A type of synthesis that utilizes computer modeling to analyze and then describe how the physical properties of an instrument affect its tone production. This information can then be written into an algorithm that mimics the output of such an instrument.

I was thinking of adding guitar modeling software to my bag o' tricks mostly for scratch track reording when drum tracking as I don't really have good room for isolating a guitar amp. Musicians Frnd has a special this month on this software, buy it and they include an upgrade to the full Amplitude version.

I was wondering how digital amp modelling works, ie. what is the process of creating POD/amplitube/guitar rig? Could anyone give me a technical overview of the subject?
Google wasn't giving me any useful information...It doesn't need to be detailed, just need

Hey guys, I was wondering about Antares Tube Preamp modeling. But I have no idea what a tube preamp is... I was very happy with Antares Microphone Modeling (which actually turns my 100 dollar Behringer B-1 into a Neumann U47).

So can someone please explain to me please in the simplest of ways what this Tube Pre-amp modeling will do to my vocals?

I am looking at either getting a guitar amp or modeler for studio use, (for those younger bands with the sh*tty ass amps). The thing is I don't play guitar, I play drums, so I don't know what amp gives what type of sound through such and such pickups. I am wanting to pick up an epiphone lespaul as a studio guitar and then either an amp or a modeler.
