Here is a link to teaser for a mini documentary that I finished for a client (The town where I live and run my business in). I'll share the full mini-doc when it is released Tuesday. There were several audio challenges. The mini-doc gave three musicians employment and my consulting company work.

It's possible that you've found this thread because you are a musician, wanting to learn how to record yourself or a band. You are on a budget, you don't fully understand things like converters, preamps, interfacing, compressors etc... and maybe you don't even care about those things right now.

Need some advice for coaching a guitarist I'm recording right now. He's good at his instrument, almost totally clean, clear, should be fine - better than lots of guys I've recorded before.

While they are doing so they also have the chance to win money each month if they are a paid member. Artists have the option to be able to sell their songs and keep all the profits.

Why do musicians slave themselves for FREE (or for peanuts) just to get their name in a credit roll? I can tell you after having produced a movie that I could CARE LESS what credits (if any) someone has. There's only 2 things I care about: 1) Is the song what I'm looking for and is the quality up to par, and 2) How cheaply can I license it for? Is it within my budget?

I'm preparing for a long project, archiving some local bands from many genres.

And I need advice on how to recording audio for this project...
So far I've had advice to buy either AKG 414 or Sennheiser 416...
The budget has around 2000$ for audio hardware, so let me know what you think the setup should be.
