2 differnt Pres/Mics on 1 sound source. Phase problems etc?

Submitted by J-3 on Thu, 07/22/2004 - 08:11

Hey guys as you may have read in a recent post by me I'm trying to do some upgrades in the preamp/mic department. I have to give back the Neve (3405) and Drawmer (1960) 2 channel pre's I've been using. I was thinking about getting the 2 channel Great River BUT was thinking I might be better off to get One Channel of GR and a Royer R-121 mic or Tube mic (K2 for instance).

Help! Problems mastering to vinyl!

Submitted by anonymous on Tue, 07/13/2004 - 16:16

Hi guys. I am having problems with a mastering suite. My master is on DAT and when they master to vinyl the sound is all distorted, mainly the vocals. They inform me that this is my fault because I have used certain processing on the vocals that do not work with vinyl. All I have used on the vocals are a Focusrite Voicemaster Pro with compressor, harmonics and tube sound all built in.

Wave Lab 4. Recording Problems?

For some reason I'm still having trouble recording into wavelab 4. I'm running a cable from my dj mixer into my soundcard ( sound blaster) and it's giving me nothing when I try to record. My settings seem to check out, my "line in" on my wavelab mixer and on my sound card aren't on mute, my connections seem to check out. I'm using windows XP & I know it's compatible.

Long post.
Computer specks are 2.8gHz P4, ASUS P4P800 Deluxe Mobo, 2 WD HD's, M-Audio Audiophile 24/96

Ok, I built a computer for audio about a month ago. Came together quickly (my first time at doing this) and without any difficulty. Been working like a charm ever since. I have 2 problems, one serious, the other a minor inconvenience.
