I am having a "mother" of a problem with my PY HD3 since I installed East West Silver edition Strings which run on a NI Kompakt sampler, it crashes continuously, i can work for a bit then if i try to open some window or something CRASHH! Any one has any info? I did install the DFDs from the web site and OSX update etc etc, its all up to speed but no luck.

Don't really have a question, but I think the current power supply/noise problem makes for a great discussion. If anybody hasn't been keeping up on this issue, the gist is that the power supplies included with the new dual G5 power macs are so noisey they're spilling over into the analog audio outs.
Ihave been using pro tools for about 6 weeks now and everything has been fine. Now all of a sudden out of nowhere my computer has decided what kind of files should be assigned to pro tools! Every damn time I bounce to disk it turns into a media player file or a creative player file. I uninstalled creative and that got rid of that but media player jumps right in there.
I have a Digi 002 rack & Pro Tools 6.1.1 with bundled software, including Sample Tank SE. I have a custom built 2.6 PIV with 512 MB ram. This gear is a fairly recent acquisition, so I have a lot to learn.
I would like to minimize the monitoring latency while playing (& recording) a SampleTank instrument e.g. piano, so that it doesn't affect my performance.
I mix in Digital performer and then export files to Toast to burn CD's of my mixes- I've noticed that when playing the files in a computer they are ok- they all play songs 1 to 15- However when I play the CD in a recular CD player it will play the files 1-8 and anything above that is lumped together as file 9- thus I can not select any of the songs 10 to 15 individually- I haven't been able t
