Description

A preamplifier, also known as a preamp, is an electronic amplifier that converts a weak electrical signal into an output signal strong enough to be noise-tolerant and strong enough for further processing, or for sending to a power amplifier and a loudspeaker. Without this, the final signal would be noisy or distorted.

preamps.

I currently use an Optopre. Its great. I like th compressor But wish I had a phase on each channel. Im thinking of trading it in for a Mackie. What experience does any one have.
Used for drums mostly. Running along with M-Audio project mix into Pro Tools.

Kind of buzz/noise issue with my Mixer & Mic preamp PSU

Hi all!

I just bought a micpreamp -PreSonus Tubepre- & I need to connect it on the same USA-EU transformer (they are US models connected on a European plug) of the one which is used to connect a Mackie VLZ 1202.

it makes a kind of buzz/noise which is more than annoying for my voice recordings.

Any ideas to solve this?

Thanks for your answers!

Preamp suggestions

I'm looking for a stereo (2 channel) preamp. I want to mainly use it for vocals, but also for drum overheads. I'm looking to spend 1,000 to 2,000, and do not care if its used, off ebay, etc. I just want to most I can get for the price I can afford. I'd love a Manley because I have used them in school, but.. thats a couple thousand out of my price range. Any suggestions.

UA mic preamp/limiter questions

I know the UA topic may be overdone at this point, but I have a few questions regarding their equipment and your personal experience with UA gear. I don't have a lot of bucks but I'm looking for a mid to high-end mic preamp, with vintage sound and colour for about $1600. The Putnam designs have always excited me, and some of my favorite records were recorded with the 610 console.
