ok so say I like listening to the background music when recording my vocals
but whenever I do this, I am always forced to record the music along with my vocals
is there a way to be able to listen to the background music along with my vocals in real time, but only records the vocals?

So yea, not the best keyboardist in the world here -- can Logic Express 8 do on-the-fly quantization when I'm recording in regions? The clean-up work after a take is a bit tedious, though I must admit that it's got me thinking about all of the soul and flavor that a region-wide quantization strips out of a take.

As a UK Based Studio Manager for a voice-over recording studio I'm looking at opening up our voice portfolio to include real time remote recording globally.

The problem is deciding which avenue to go down: ISDN or ADSL?

I have a problem when I'm recording. I can't hear the real time effect (reverv etc) when I'm recording vocal. Is there anyone who might now what the problem could be. The effect are there aftervards bit it's a lot more difficult when you are forexample recording a delayed guitar..

How would I go about using a Delta 1010, which has 8 1/4" ins and outs each, for realtime effects use? For instance, take a guitar through Input 1 and have a distorted flange guitar on Output 1 in realtime?

Hello All.

I could hear the real time preview of my
external plugins using Sound Forge.

All of a sudden they will only be heard in
preview without the "real time" checkbox.

This effects ALL plugins now.
Real-Time FX in Cakewalk still works.

Any ideas why and what I can do to get that
working again.

I am currently using a creamware luna 2 to process guitar and vocal live. using the luna, all effects are midi controllable.

My question:

I am interested in real time looping as a performance. So far the only tools available are the Oberhiem Exhoplex Digital Pro and the Boomerang. Both suck in the audio quality dept compared to my RME Hammerfall card in my Nuendo system tho. So I'd like to turn Nuendo into one of these products.
