Hi, I am always interested in recording for solo recitals / solo concerts untill recently I have the opportunity.

Usually the recording situation will be a soloist + a accompaniment.( violin + piano, clarinet + piano, french horn + piano,etc...)

As you can see the instruments range is quite large, so i need something that i versatile.

As a service to my university and friends, I record live student performances at my school... I've recently acquired a whole new rig that has been working quite well so far. It is a DAW as follows (brief spec):

I've been asked to document a recital with an alto, a soprano and piano in this church:

I have seen a couple of recordists [?] place their microphones [stereo bar] on the floor in front of an elevated stage at about stage floor level, slightly to stage left to record student recitals at the school where I work.

They have done this to be visually unobtrusive.

Starting to do some recording of live performances of small ensembles (strings, brass, woodwinds, percussion) and choir recordings.
Mainly student recitals done at on campus recital halls.

I am looking to start recording concerts, recitals, audition tapes, demos, etc. It would be all classical intruments. I'm looking for some kind of gear to record just stereo (i don't wanna get too fancy with tons of mics and wires running all over the place).
