As I write this, it is a beautiful Australian morning. Slight breeze coming in off the Ocean that stretches out here so far, so blue – less than 100 meters from where I type.

I've read in here about people using different reverbs to create depth in a mix. How much reverb is typically used in hip hop music? We're talking in-your face sound here, so would one use less verb?

Does anyone know this huge old reverb? Is

Hello neighbors,

Can anyone tell me how I can get a copy of the operation manual for the Sony R7 reverb? My original copy was "borrowed" by another engineer and never returned.

I'd gladly accept a photocopy of the manual if I cannot locate an actual copy.

I have added an Eventide Eclipse and in exploring it, I have realized that I've never gotten really comfortabel that I know what any of my verbs can do.
I have the eclipse, 2 PCM80s an M-One and a midiverb. While I can hear the differences among them, it's kind of a crapshoot deciding which unit to use on what track, then which preset.

I've been messin around with recording as a hobby all my life. I've been using a Tascam 244 PortaStudio and Cakewalk 6.0 on my computer, and have come into a little bit of cash. I want to set up a semi vintage analog studio in my basement, and have my eye on an MCI JH-24 2" 24 track, and an MCI 600 series console that a studio I know is selling cause their going out of business.

Not sure what the difference really means to a mix, but do you guys recommend one over the other, pre or post fader, when dishing up reverbs on your tracks?

I'm looking for another reverb. And I'm just looking for opinions on this, before I get some rack-digi-multi-crap like everyone else. Like tape machines, it's probably going to be a pain in the ass, but will the result will be worth it? Or is this completely insane, I record in my basement!

Hi folks. I posted a query re the quality of reverb- plugins on Julians forum.Greg thought it should be a Pro Tools topic and to post it here. Me, I'm just confused and want to be everybody's friend. I thought here would be good place to maybe try and follow up the stuff that relates specifically to Pro Tools, which is when all said and done, my own need.
