Oktava mics for grand piano?
I mainly record classical chamber music (recitals in theatres and auditorium with very good acoustics) and I'm very proud of the results: by now I used a Neumann km183 spaced pair in A-B recording technique through a MOTU Traveler (preamp, AD converter and audio card all in a box) connected to an Apple powerbook (recording at 48KHz 24 bit).

Oktava MK012 -vs. . - RODE NT5
Does anyone have comparison advise for these two condenser mics? I am looking for a pair, mainly to mic upright piano. As I live in Australia it is cheaper for me to buy NT5s though the reviews I have read seem to favour the MK012s.

Oktava MK319...pretty dull!
I've been using this mic on vocals for about 2 years now, and I can't get a vocal track that doesn't sound like there is a foggy cloud around it. It's a little muffled and dull sounding. No matter what singer or how I change my room.

Looking to replace my Oktava MC012's...
First off. I've seen this mic called the MC012 and the MK012...no difference in the mic.
Alright, I have used these mics as my OH's, on acoustic guitar, and on violins. I've found someone wanting to buy these from me, and now have a little dough to spend on "better" overheads.

Replacing my Oktava MK319 and Blue 8-Ball.
Both of these mics served their purpose (vocals mainly) but the Oktava is dull sounding and the 8 Ball almost sounds like you have a BBE Sonic Maximizer on the vocals. maybe I'm just insane.

Oktava MKL5000 - 6C15P is an error on the Oktava site
Hi everyone
I have an Oktava MKL5000, but I want to experiment with different valves. The problem is that it uses 6C15P, about which it's very difficult to find information. Anyone know compatible alternatives? I've so far found a lot of potentially disastrous misinformation on the Internet.
Any ideas?
Thanks
John Stafford
Oktava ribbons
Hi all
Has anyone tried the Oktava ribbons? I don't suppose they're an alternative to Royers, but I was just wondering if they're any good at all.
John

Oktava MK-012 or Marshall MXL603?
Hi, I want to get 2 mics to record my acoustic guitar. I just spoke with a guy at Guitar Center, and he said the Marshall MXL603 was getting some very good reviews and that 2 of those may be better than the MK-012's. Does anyone have any info. on the these mics?
Thanks.
