I have a 16 x 20 building (15' 4" x 19' 4" interior) that I intend to create a studio in. My plan is to build two walls in a V shape at one end. The V would point to the back of the studio. Another wall would extend between the V point and the back wall of the studio, thus creating a control room on one side and a vocal/drum booth on the other.

do you have any suggestion which the best monitor under $500? mostly I am working with acoustic guitar, contra bass. cello, flute and vocal.

Ok I've looked and I haven't seen a thread for this but if there is please redirect me. I am currently using a pair of Shure Critical Listening Headphones to do ALL of my mixing, recording etc etc etc...
Hey, I am by no means new to the recording of music. I have however been away from it for a few years.
I was wondering, to record into logic i am more than aware i need an interface. Can i just get a jack like rack mount interface and use XLR to jack cables and record straight into Logic? Or, do i need a mixing desk for the mics to go into that then goes into the interface?
Has anyone ever used the Sony MDR-V150 studio headphones for there home studio or pro? It seems like these headphones for the price is very popular so I assume most people like them. I did recently got them for free basically since I had a $20 promo discount from Amazon. Amazon was selling them for $15.35.
I am going to take the plunge and add the computer to my room. Probably PT. maybe 9 if I can find an appropriately priced Mac. .maybe PC.
My question now is this. What will I need to share files with others (like all you folks) for different styles and ideas on particular projects?

I am attempting to set up a decent recording rig in my bedroom to make some demos. I play primarily guitar (metalcore/post hxc) and also some screaming vocals.
I'm looking to kit it out my music studio with a good "all-round" mic. .ok. I know there is no such thing as an "all round mic" that will do everything, however to put this into some context we used to have a couple of SM81's which seem to have gone missing which were used for all sorts.
