Hi. So I took up a black friday deal and got a good core i7 laptop for cheap. Unfortunately all laptops now have 3.0 usb and no firewire possibilities, which makes my bandmates nice Focusrite sapphire useless to me. I still have a 2 channel emu 2.0 interface that's working well for my midi triggering vst's and 2 channel recording. I would like to have multi-channel for live drums.

I'm looking for a professional that is experienced in Analog Recording to point me in
the right direction for a 16 channel mixer and 16 track tape machine.
My Budget is variable, I'd like to know a few price range options, I defiantly don't want to spend more that a few thousand.
ok on my old computer i was using, i had fl studio on it and was using it to play guitar through. i only do this because my effects processor and amp were stolen. so i use the hardcore effects on fl studio to hold me over till i can get another guitar rig. worked great on the old computer!
Today I had a friend come and visit the studio and he brought the Kemper Profiling amp with him. We decided to record a song using the unit exclusively to hear what this sounds like in an actual mix.
I used a Strat and a Les Paul to try and demo how well this works with single coils and humbuckers.
I have Studio One Professional and was not very satisfied with it mostly due to the lack of diversity. Can anyone give me input on the the one PreSonus recently released?
Of course, i had the best interest for a nice Quad-Core computer, and the top of the line effects but...after much research i have found that with proper mic placement, good mics, good preamps/interface/AtoD converters and recording setup, i can make due what i have. With little more upgrade to my laptop.
This is definitely worth watching.
I'm new to this website, and i'm not positive if i'm in the right forum, but I really need some help with my setup. I can't stand working on huge logic pro projects on my small laptop screen, so i got a nice Sony bravia LED monitor. But for SOME UNEXPLAINABLE REASON, I keep getting a deep feedback through my studio monitors whenever I have the monitor hooked up.
Hey everyone, first time home studioer here. I'm in the process of setting up my budget friendly home studio and have a few questions before I get started. The first being what software should I start with?
Hey everyone, this is my first time here and i hope I'm posting in the right section. If not feel free to move to where ever it should be, I understand how forums work.
