Greetings.
I want to change my current setup to the one Focusrite Saffire PRO 24 sound card mainly for improvement in recording Vocals and Acoustic Guitar.
The problem is i have no idea that this change does really affect my recording quality.
My current setup:
- Infrasonic Quartet 4x4 Pci interface (I just use Line-in and not Its own preamp)

Hey everyone, first post, searched the forum for "shed" and didn't find a totally similar situation so I'll post the question here. Sorry if I missed any previous duplicate posts! I'm a "need it right now" kind of person, but I really don't want to screw this up so I'm trying to slow down and do my research, and see if this is a horrible idea, or workable.
I'd like to get some feedback, i kind of made this project in a rush for an upcoming show, it took about 3 weeks. I just wanted some feedback, so let me know!

Hi there,
My name is AJ and I am really interested in setting up a home recording setup to run Pro Tools among other things. Trouble is, I have no idea where to start.
I would really like some help but I'm not looking for a hand out. I wanted to offer some design / web development services in exchange for some help setting up a studio and some training.
It seems to me like we have things a little backwards as a whole. Under the assumption sounds aren't gojng to just be replaced. Shouldn't the most accurate control room in the whole project be during tracking, and mixing? Or mixing and tracking? Why are mastering where your supposedly just putting the final 2% the ones going down to 10hz and picking up things you never heard?
Hey there, Great forum you've got going here - very helpful! I'm a long time lurker, first time poster.
I'm about to embark on fulfilling a lifelong dream of a dedicated studio/music/rock-god-lair m/, I've read Rod Gervais' book - plus other articles...and many threads here so I think I have the fundamentals happening?
I recently acquired the brother of this console (exact specs) made by RCA Engineers. 24:16 with Melcors etc.
I'd love to find out additional information in regards to these consoles. They were made in 1969/70 in NYC by RCA.
There is one at the RCA Studio B in Nashville currently.
More and more people are checking out PreSonus Studio One. Here is a recent article. Feel welcome to share why you like or dislike this software?

Hi guys,
I finally have a good tracking room in my studio, properly treated even if is a bit on the small side.
I plan to use it mainly for recording my Yamaha C7 grand piano with my Schoeps mk21s into a MH ULN-2 (solo piano music, eventually with a bit of electronics and sometimes a string quartet to support the piano "à la Einaudi").
