To sum or not to sum

Hi guys...I have a very basic question.
What would be the difference between
*sending all my digital outputs into 1 stereo output- to a high quality preamp and sending it back to the A/D converter

and

*sending all my digital outputs into a summing mixer and then into a stereo preamp and sending it back to the A/D converter

thanks!
noam,

how to sum 2 line level stereo signals ?

Hi,

To mix several signals in stereo, there is the mixing console, of course ! But i need no eq, no pan, no level control etc... no active circuitry... What i want is just to mix 2 stereo signal that goes out from 2 preamps (BG1), into a 2 tracks recorder (BB+)... (to 'copy' the Nagra V with its 4 inputs !)

studio design: sum bus vs digital/analog mixer

Hey guys, I (conservatively) have about $5000-$6500 to work with. I am going to overhaul the way I work in my studio. First of all, character of sound is very important to me. I think some things should sound "warm" or "gritty" or "electronic" etc... depending on the situation so I want some flexibility.

jv1080 bulk dump check sum error

I've got a Roland JV 1080 and recently for the the first time ever I got the message "Check Sum Error" when trying to reload a bulk dump I'd saved in my sequencer (Logic). The synth didn't respond to anything - it just kept flashing the message "Check SUm Error" so I eventually switched it off. Then when I switched it on again, the sounds were very strange i.e.
