Problem...
I hear great final mix (analog) but when I record that thru RME converters (Multiface) it doesn't sound that good anymore.

Problem...
I hear great final mix (analog) but when I record that thru RME converters (Multiface) it doesn't sound that good anymore.
I recorded in 24bit resolution, 44.1.
Details are lost, highs are muddy, bass not tight. Something is wrong. OK, it is not SO wrong (most people probably would not notice it) but I do and it bothers me.

Upgrading audio recording gear
Hello,
I mainly record classical solo piano music (recitals in theatres and auditorium with very good acoustics) and I'm very proud of the results: by now I used a km183 spaced pair in A-B recording technique through an M-audio usb Duo (preamp, AD converter and audio card all in a box) connected to an Apple powerbook.

Upgrading mic preamp's or compressors first
What would you guys do first? Right now I'm using two RNP/RNC combos and I want to improve the quality of my recordings. I am going to get two X73i's with the power supply, a UA 1176, and an Empirical Labs Distressor...but I only have enough money to get the pre's OR the compressors now. Thank you

Upgrading Home Studio PC Sound Card... HELP!
I am currently operating on Windows XP Home; AMD Athlon XP 2200 1.8G Processor 512M Ram and currently have a crappy Aureal Vortex 1500.
I am recording with Cakewalk Home Studio 2004 XL. Mainly recording pop and dance music.
I want to upgrade to a midrange pro audio sound card and most likely the processor too.
Any suggestions? Thanks!

Upgrading my DAW - any advice on these bits?
My motherboard died this week with a series of blown and leaking caps so it’s time to replace it. As I was never that impressed with the performance of the processor (P4 2400MHz) I'm thinking about going for a more radical upgrade to try and increase my CPU performance as I use a lot of VSTs and was regularly maxing out CPU.

How to spend $3000 upgrading my recording studio
If all you had was a Neumann TLM 103, Allen & Heath Mixer, Nuendo, Waves Ren, UAD-1, Pair of Oktava MK-012's, RODE NT-2, various small and large dynamic mics Mackie HR824's, decent sounding rooms AND had $3,000 to upgrade what would you do?.Style...Rock, Alt Country, full band and acoustic mostly multi-tracking so a mic or mic preamp can be used for most instruments.
