Hi gang,

This is an attempt at mastering while explaining the process and using only Samplitude plugins..
Tell me what you think ! (remember I'm not a ME ! ;)

My main missing things are
LUFS metering
M/S processing
Having long peak holds on the spectrum analyser.

What a challenge.
Im simple, I like old school play rewind fast forward record
push the button and go
Ive had tape machines, Adats, HD 24, and now using the Behringer X Touch with 2 Extenders to have 24 tracks of control.
Its a studio in my home, mostly for my projects.
I find I havent been using the X touch at all, other than play and record.

Is the AEA rpq 2 a good all around choice for hybrid workflow?

@audiokid @Boswell @everyone

Having spec'd most of the new system I'm down to the summing section. The rolls folcrum seems like a great no nonsense box, that allows for creativity with color or transparency, because it's completely passive and requires a preamp / make up gain stage.

Rendering...when to in your workflow and for quality?

Up until now as I've worked in Reaper when I render my project I've done an all or nothing kind of thing - rendering everything as the mastermix and I realize there may be some limitations on this.

Now my computer is powerful enough to handle this - lot's of headroom with memory and CPU -- I'm assuming I shouldn't lose quality with this approach but I may be wrong.

What is your compositional workflow?

Nearly all of us here on RO started out as musicians before we became involved in the technical side of music and recording, and while I know that there are some guys here who have let go of the music part over the years, and have decided to concentrate solely on the engineering and production end of things, I know there are those engineers who still perform and write.
