have you tried the TDM waves de-esser?
it is quite good.

Orban de-essers are quite good as well. I've used the same one for many years and haven't come across a situation which it couldn't take care of. I personally prefer them to Dbx's (although the Dbx would probably be my second choice).

I have used the DBX 902, The BSS 402 and the Drawmer MX50. I sure liked the Drawmer, and for the price you can't beat it!

Find a dbx263x...the budget half rack version of the famous 902. A very good de-esser and a very good deal if you pick one up.They were cheap even new.

Wasn't there a Manley one that was meant to be nice?
The drawmer is pretty good.

I just picked one up a month ago or so off of Ebay for pretty cheap, and as RM mentions, it works pretty well, especially for the price!

The SPL De-Esser is probably the best I've used...
