Ok now here is the deal, i was reading the reviews of the songs from this group project and it seems that the ones that recieved the best reviews were the ones whiich lacked a 20-450 section. This made the song very brittle and clean. Is that what clients want in a song? This brittle and clean and powerles music? Just listen to those which recieved high reviews and you'll see what i mean.

Ben,
It's more of a balance between everything. If pushing the lows means covering up other things, then it's not good. I think in this mix, pushing the low end to the point of some of the current things out there, covered up vital elements in the mix like the vocal and the snare. If you're not hearing the low end on these mixes, then it could possibly be a fault in your monitors. Don't take this personally or even literally. maybe it's not your taste. this isn't a competition as much as it's a learning experience. I learn from every single submition that I listen to.

I haven't heard the examples you are talking about, but reading your statements and the others seems like you may have a monitoring problem... but i could be wrong.

Your comment about lack of 300hz is very specifick and only heard of when there is a direct problem either in the material or the monitors.

What do you monitor on right now? B&W?

Thanks very much John!!
The lamp is designed by Verner Panton(DK-1969).
The gyrafs is all custom made ones of their opto-varmu compressors and passive EQ.
I'm soon going to be finished with a 4U analog transfer console that Jacob(gyraf) ingraved for me.

And a new site update is on the way...
