Im a newbie to the whole RO a friend sent a email to me about "Pro Audio Women needed" and I was wondering if anyone could recommend any books,learning material or equipment on music producing & enginnering. What is a the gotta have guides on getting started?

I'll tell you what should be your bible for learning audio and engineering topics...The Yamaha Sound Reinforcement book...(in fact Tweak owes me one of those since he borrowed it and never gave it back!!!!)
When I did have it I read it daily to understand terminology and so forth..you should read the section on dB like 100 hundred times to fully understand it!!!
