Been messing around with my Crate Palomino 30w,Celection 10" all class A amp .
Its makes my Strat sound like Katrina&Rita all mixed up on one beach!
Ive never-ever heard my Strat sound so good.
It must weigh 50lbs.
I guess the 4 EL84s and the 3 12AX7a give it that Strat flavor Ive been looking for--for many yrs.

Funny you should mention the valveking----I was looking at purchasing the ValveKing ,but optted to go with the Crate,,,,,its 100% all tube tone.
I also own a Fender Twin, and an older Marshall 800---I like them all,,,but I must admit,,,the Crate has a-hole lotta volume to play with.

btw, the valveking is 100% all tube aswell.

Oh yeah! They've been coming out with some great amps! You gettin some Marshall type crunch outta it?Ive been using the clean channel more so than the Crunch channel,,,,,,I cant even begin to explain how much true tone is comming out of this thing,,,especially with my Strat!---------------It makes my Strat come alive!!!
As far as it getting a Marshall tone----its there----but in old tube fashion,,,,you gotta crank it----to get the tone--------with that said,,,I used a Marshall Power Brk on the amp to give it a load and bammmm!!!,,,,theres the Marshall tone.
Maybe at a later date,,,Id like to change the tubes out for different distorion tones,,,but for now,,,,,,I cant even begine to explain how good the clean channel is,,,,it puts the My Fender Twin to shame.

Inspect---What you Expect :wink:i guess ill have to try it out...I dont know if there is a Guitar center close to you,,,,but thats about the only place youll be able to find the Crate Palomino, they have them in10-30 watt series,I went with the 30 watt.
The next gig I attend,,,Im gonna take that Crate,,and let-er-rip.
In all honesty---what I really-really wanted,,,was a Peavy JSX,,,,but the price tag made me reastablish my thinking.
Ive been investing on recording gear, and Im hear to tell you----it aint cheap!
