I want to add some flexibility to my acoustic kit when I play live. Ideally, a drum machine (or midi interface to sampler ), 2-3 padsand 1-2 acoustic triggers) to be used for specials sounds (persussion, hand claps, different snare sounds, hand drums...). Want to keep it simple as well. Like the Roland SP20 - a bit expensive though.
I don't want to spend a ton of money so what's your thoughts.

Try an old Roland TD-5. It's a great little module that won't cost an arm and a leg. You can find them on fleabay all day long for around 100-150. You can trigger with acoustic triggers or through midi.
