Hello everyone. I'm new here.

Just got myself kitted out with a PreSonus 8 channel mic preamp-amp with ADAT output which i'm running into the e-mu 1212m recording with adobe audition.

My problem is (if anyone can help) when I record say one guitar part on one track and I want to record another track while monitoring the previous track I can't get it to only record the new track. It records all wave files being played on my computer at that time including the new track. So the tracks build up on top of each other which is not good.

I've tried playing about with the settings on the e-mu mixer but to no avail. I read somewhere about using inserts to route the signals I want to monitor to the monitor channel but as far as I can see the monitor is just exactly as the mix channel but with a separate trim pot.

Can anyone help please!
