Hi Nipp!

It would be best to consider suspending 3 or 4 rigid fiberglass panels like OC 703 or 705, or a similar rockwool product, 3 to 4 inches thick and spaced 3-4 inches (or more depending on your ceiling height) below the ceiling, above your drums. The panels usually come 2' by 4' and various thicknesses. These panels will make your ceiling dissappear acoustically from your mics. Foam products won't be nearly as effective, and the fiberglass/rockwool products are less expensive, but a little more work to install. For further information, check out the Acoustics & Design forum in RO. You cannot purchase rigid fiberglass panels at Home Depot, etc, but check with commercial insulation or HVAC suppliers. There are probably links to suppliers located in California in the Acoustics & Design forum if you take the time to look.
