getting noise from my audio monitors (Mackie HR824's that usually sound really nice). high pitch crinkle & whine. When I click & hold mouse the sound changes slightly then goes back to regular whine cycle when I let go. Different windows make slightly different noises. I've tried to seperate cables as much as possible. can USB cause this unwanted noise? What about too long of a fire wire cable. I would appreciate any suggestions to remedy this. Thanks.

thanks for the input, roirat. I never thought about my close proximity to radio towers. There are five large towers less than a mile away. I have noticed interference from cell phones to gtr pick ups & amps. Its just really frustrating when I am mixing, at a semi loud to loud volume, stop the play back, and all I hear is that nasty whirring! I know it is related to my video monitors due to changes on the screen sounding differently.

I get some pretty weird sounds from if I get a mic or other piece of gear too close to my wireless mouse.
RFI sucks. Try living a mile from a five megawatt VHF/UHF radar... Sometimes I can't even watch TV, let alone get a clean signal out into my daw...
