Hello,
My name is Leif Iverson. I am currently a student at Pacific Lutheran University in Tacoma Washington. I'm a singer/songwriter/lyricist and I am tired of using Audacity to record my songs. I sing and play my guitars. One of them is a Acoustic Electric Taylor 314ce, and the other is a Fender American Strat. My playing style is sorta like Jack Johnson but more musically complicated.
I would like to set up a Some-what portable recording studio in my dorm. Over the years I have acquired lots of instrumental equipment. I was hoping someone with some recording experience would be able to help me out with setting it up. I know that I'll need a pair of studio monitors and I might need another microphone.
I hope to record on my Macbook that currently has 124 GB left.
The Equipment:
I currently have a Mackie 14 Channel Mixer http://www.mackie.com/products/1402vlz3/
I Have a Behringer Audio Interface http://www.Behringer.com/FCA202/index.cfm?lang=ENG
I Have a Audio-Technica Hanging Condenser mic http://www.audio-technica.com/cms/wired_mics/98b1e6b877309ab4/index.html
My pedal board that I use, has all these already fixed to the board they are removable:
1. The Digitech RP 250 http://www.digitech.com/products/Multi-Effects/RP250.php
2. The Digitech Jam Man Looper http://www.digitech.com/products/Pedals/JamMan.php
3. The Digitech Hotrod Distortion pedal (that I don't use very often). http://www.digitech.com/products/pedals/HotRod.php
If Anyone could help me, I would give them a free CD when I record my first one. . Actually I might send some money your way. I'm not sure. I think that I'd love you forever.
Thank you for your time.
~Leif Iverson

Amp? Yes.
I have a Crate 50 watt Bass amp. It's not the greatest.... But with enough eq it works for the time being. I'm working on getting a better amp.
I was looking at the Kustom Sienna 65 Acoustic amp for my Taylor. They are very well thought of on most of the sites I go to.

You have all the equipment you need as long as you can live with the unadulterated sound of your strat.
If not, then you need to get a mic to handle your guitar amp. You don't really need the mixer. You can mix on the computer with the software. And the software is all that is left. You need to choose one of the many DAW's available on the marketplace. I use one called Sonar 7 but it isn't any better than a number of others. Most of them work quite well.
