I just bought these on ebay for $26.00 plus shipping.

(This was totally on a "Yamaha NS series Lark" really. I have no illusions about anything quality-wise on these.)

Now, I have a pair of 10M's at home, and all, and I know about 10's, 10M's, 10MT's and even 10MC's.

I have only found one other reference to 10T's on google. I did all kinds of searches including different spacingas and hyphens and "natural sound" etc. Even Yamaha's webpage doesn't have any mention of it--but then again it only mentions MT's or something.

Anyone with any info--lemme have it. It's just a cute little $26.00 mystery.

Thanks-

Congradulations!!!

Those are very nice. The woofer has a slightly heavier cone and can go lower, the tweeter on the T model has a more extensive crossover than the NS10M. These are actually really nice speakers, you got them for a real deal. I like them al;ot, had a pair as well.

Now, the kicker, If they are L/R models or if you got two rights or two lefts. Without the onterone grill less, hard to tell. They made both mirrowed ones and non mirrowed. Let me know when you get them. The woofers are actually smoother too and have all the good qualities of the ns10 with photo paper cone.

Bill-

Wow! That's great. It's going to be $56.00 with shipping from Cali.

I love a good find and a good deal. I spent a long time today on google, and I still couldn't find more info than I origianlly posted. Nothing. Nobody's responded on gearslutz.com, yet, either.

Do you know why this is? I was even calling Yamaha speaker replacement outfits, and they hadn't even heard of them.

When were they made? Discontinued? Any frequency response info?

Thanks, Bill. You've been the bearer of good tidings. I'll let you know about them when they arrive.

Bill-

The seller emailed me, and the

"S/N are: 08215R and 08125L"

so, I guess I'm in business (that has to be a typo).

I'm turning into one of these people who's spending the better part of a song diquing around with stuff that 95% of anyone who listens will never hear...

and I can't de-dorkify! If anything, it's getting worse. I am headed for a period of actually finishing some songs, I think. All of this gear lust has its price on the songwriting side.

p.s. I'm going to grab your first response and post it on my gearslutz thread about these speakers because it's gotten 45 views and 0 responses. Let's go edjumucate them.

Interesting. I just saw a pair of these over at a used stereo store in Berkeley last weekend. They looked brand new and were going for $120 which still seems like a good price. I went there on a hunch that they would have diskwasher fluid for vinyl. I spent an hour ogling at all the vintage hi fi gear. Very cool!! They had the diskwasher fluid too.

Small--yes.

Think about it: I buy something from a guy on ebay. I google the item online and read a text description by another guy selling one. I come up here, post, and you reply that you have stood in front of the very speakers that I have just read about. Then that guy emails me, and I talk with you about this guy that we've both talked to, but whom only you've met. Gets funky!

Rich emailed me back this:

"Made around 1985-

Listed for $198/pair. They do show up in the Orion Blue Book-

Seem like low cost clones of the NS-10M’s, banking on their good name-

They’re decent, “generic” small speakers but have very little in common quality wise to the NS-10M’s."

Wow...technology.
