Hi all,

I read a bit about pres and found information about Focusrite octopre & PreSonus digimax 96 or LT ... I don't need converted on my pre-amp unit since I use a MOTU 828.

The question is, what unit offer best bang for the buck in the 1000$ price range. I know this question has been asked in the past but none of them was really answered and totally degenerated in a topic pro or against prosumer vs professional equipment.

A little help will be apprciated

Thanks

D

Thanks for the reply,

Those Sytek looks appelling, so is the Studio projects SP828. How does it compare with Focusrite & Presonus ?

I guest asking the questions is ansering it ... since the systek is about the same price as the order one for only 4 pres ... they must have put a little love in them !

I'm not looking for new BTW, ebay is a grest place, but sytek product are not comming up often.

peace

mike stoica, the sytek designer, sells them on e-bay- they come up every so often and I got mine there- I don't know how they compare to focusrite, prosonus or sp. I have compared it to the grace 101 though. the grace has more high end 'air' and more detail, cleaner but with less attitude, especially when compared to the sytek with the burr brown options. I'd rather use my tube K2 with the sytek with bb but I prefer the grace with the U87 and my RCA d77.

thanks Maintiger,

I'll use mine exclusively for drums, guitar, and other non-vocal instrument. I'm mainly in instrumental rock, I guest that if vocals are needed, i'll find a bettre one with a tube.

I'll look on ebay cause these looks like a keeper, and I want something that could last for the next decade or so, this is the main reason why I don't want one with converter since electronics get outdated pretty fast.

Cheers
