I've just upgraded to Tiger (Not sure if that's related) and I now get this error when I load up any of my Pro Tools sessions. I havn't changed anything else...still the same setup as I've had for a year now.
I'm getting this error: audio files are on volumes unsuitable for playback
this is my setup:
Mac G4 400MHz
Digi 002 (desk)
Pro Tools 6.9
2 internal hard drives
* 80gig HD with Tiger os10.4 system and all apps.
* 80gig HD is my Audio drive with all my Pro Tools sessions.
So i'm gathering thatis not recognising my Audio drive as a suitable drive for Pro Tools . even know it's always worked.
Any ideas?

there where two similar threads of PT problems under Tiger here somewhere...
did you tried swapping back to 10.3.x, does the same problem occur??

I had a similar problem where i could not record enable the tracks. It said 'Cannot designate volumes'. I fixed it by changing the volume properties in the workspace to record from playback for audio n' video.. Maybe urs is set to 'transfer' only..

i'm not shure if that will help, but a friend of mine had a similar problem with osx, the OS recognised one of the two audio drives not as a hfs(+) formated drive after an OS update, un-mounting and re-mounting the HD cured his problem, maybee give it a try...
