Putting a bass into a tinney and tiny guitar amp is a bad idea... it causes expensive blue smoke to appear so i'm told.
Just wondering.. If i take a bass guitar.. DI it, A/D it, and take it to my computer... the fact that it is a bass won't cause expensive blue smoke to appear from any of the equiptment like it does if you (apparently) plug it into a guitar amp.. ie do i need any equiptment to protect or do somthing with the singal before I start routing it about?
Am i talking rubbish?
Thanks a lot :D:D
Am I talking rubbish? Yes!  Don't worry, most
Yes!
Don't worry, most of us do that at least occasionally. There's nothing wrong with recording a bass the way you described. It's done hundreds of times a day here on planet Earth.
