Hello,

I'm wondering if anyone knows if the outputs on the PreSonus Firebox are +4dB, and if I'll need a ReAmp to get the impedance correct if I want to run tracks back through an amp? I'm pretty certain they are at line, not instrument level.

Thanks

My stepson's guitar teacher just bought one of those things, and I ,too, was curious about that. The tech literature from PreSonus only states that they are "51 ohms"!!! There is absolutely no level info listed for ANY of the connectors! So I called the tech support line and, after a guy named Jason put me on hold for a very long period of time, he came back on and said that..."the max headroom is +18".....I'd say you will have to use it as a -10dB device. 18 dB is certainly not decent headroom for a +4dB "pro" device. They really never addressed that issue directly, though, did they? I must say that the Presonus I knew a couple of years ago when I got my first ACP88 is no longer the company I dealt with. Sad but true.

Yeah, very sad, indeed. I have owned several pieces of their "earlier" gear, including some that had real Jensen trannies.
Not the same company,IMHO. BTW, I was told by an engineer friend who lives in New Orleans that the guy who developed a lot of their earlier stuff left them to pursue other avenues and that's when the problems started...

I have the Firepod and love every bit of it, but I've never considered the issue you speak of. I'd honestly never heard of a Reamp either. I thank you for alerting me to its existence!

I'll see what's in the Pod manual, bnut I don't like the chances as it's thin and pretty rudimentary, and doesn't even go into some stuff that's necessary to get the thing going: like sequencer internal routings etc. Normallly I'd expect the sequencer manufacturer to educate this side of things, but really, the Pod comes with Cubase SE, and there's just no mention in the manul of the details for routing, leaving the poor beginner (not me :) to figure it all out solo or on the net....

I must say though, their customer service in my direction has been A + outstanding! Very helpful. Perhaps if you try again you might get someone else? Try their tech dept. I can give you their email if you haven't got it.
