I'd just like to thank everyone involved here and the folks runs this forum! I cant believe I've been recording at home for a few years and have never been to this site! It's basically a university on recording. Thanks again- I'm sure my recordings will see a huge jump in quality over the next few months.

Yes, it is a great place and you can gain a wealth of knowledge from others and learn from their experiences.
Regarding the learning from experiences, case in point: one should always remember to unplug the other end of an xlr cable from an active studio chain when attempting to solder a faulty connection. :(
