After reading the “The RO Sessions – what’s this?” thread, the wonderful ideas people came up with got my mind to thinking: How cool would it be to have a new forum, where RO members post their mixes, to have other RO members critique them?

I think that this would be great. I am a new member here and am also a newbie at recording. I have heard some awesome advice on this site and think that its great to have a place like this to turn to for advice. I think that a mixdown critique section could make it even better. Imagine having unlimited access to a large variety of reference monitors, and many different sets of ears. It sucks getting burnt out on a mix, and It would be so awesome to have fresh sets of ears listen to your mix.

There could be an online form for the reviewer to fill out. Like what type of monitors were used, and how the mix sounded on those monitors. Along with sections on the form regarding different aspects of mixing, like levels, compression, EQ, phasing, stereo spread, comments, suggestions.

Why limit it to mixing. There could be a mastering critique section too? What do you all think? I think that this could be a win/win situation. Especially for us newbies who cant afford schooling. :)
