hi. i'm using a Tascam m2600 mixer,delta 1010 sound card and two delta 410 linked together,my monitors are tannoy reveal.i make up all my drums in reason softwear 24bit 96khz and export then out has Wavesinto lodgic exs24 sampler,and i use lodgic instruments aswell,but my mixes sound a bit flat compared to the mixes i hear on CDs that r on the street.do i clean up the sounds or is it done in the mastering studio when i'm gonna
put the tune out on the street,and if i have to clean
the sounds up what wounld u reconmend is the best way of doing it.

Yes, That is what mastering facilities are for.

1. Don't compress your 2-bus to the point where it cannot be mastered.

2. To add spice to a mix, watch your panning and try not to pan instruments within the same frequency/harmonic range at the same location.

3. Spread your high frequencies wide.

4. Watch your meters on your final recording deck for R/L balance.

5. If you intend on using a professional mastering facility, keep your levels resonable. Peaks of -6 are fine, let the mastering house provide the "juice" to have a wonderful product.
