Hi everyone
I'm trying to record a demo for my electronic post rock band.
The track begins with a simple keyboard loop. Seconds later, the bass and guitars enter (at the same time).
The problem I'm having is trying to make the guitars/bass entrance sound really MASSIVE.
Does anyone have any tips on how to do this? The levels of the guitars/bass are very high, but when they enter, there still isn't that "boost" that I'm looking for.
Here is the track i'm talking about:

There's quite a few things you might want to do.
- Bent is right about lowering the intro so there's a noticeable difference
- you might also want to eq the intro to be a little thinner.
- Now , your big problem is going to be the massive part.
The gtr's just don't have the the full bodied tone one would associate with 'massive' regardless of level
- Another thing that creates a big sound is full range up in your face drums. Your drums start before the gtrs/bass, and are also quite thin sounding.
- The last thing is a little more psychological. If we indeed have a massive band intro it should probably drown out the keyboard. So you might want to have the keys remain at the lower intro, and just eq them a bit fatter when the band kicks in.

Lower the keyboard tracks in the beginning (so it sounds less massive), raise your volume knob or fader, listen back - tada!
For something to sound "really massive" there must be something with less mass to compare it to...
