Hello everyone, I am looking for a good, highly regulated, phantom power supply.
My Emu 1820M's phantom power supply is jacked up, FOR THE SECOND TIME. Bought the Emu, 7 months later, PREAMP PROBLEMS, I got a new on on warranty, 8 months later, same thing. Exact same problem. Now Im out of warranty, and the 1820M is discontinued. The Card is great, but damn them preamps.
Basically, the problem only occurs when I turn on the Phantom Power(even with the mic cable disconnected from the dock). Alot of DC offset, Erratic levels. A common problem Ive read.
With Phantom Power off, and using a dyanamic mic, no problem.
So at the Emu forums, someone recommended I just get an external Phatom supply.
I only need a single input and output. Any suggestions on a very good one. Not there are many to choose from.

I noticed in the ART Phantom III has a "Output Noise: -115 dBV"
I noticed in the ART Phantom III has a "Output Noise: -115 dBV" compared to the AT8801 "Residual Output Noise: -71 dBV"
But the AT speaks of "Highly regulated voltage" but still has the +/-2VDC, just like the ART Phantom III.
Alot of people seem to like the Rolls PB223
Hmm, Im wondering about the Output noise specs.
Thanks
