The PCI-324 doesn't have TDIF. Do you have a 2408? There should be a MOTU I/O controller ("Console", as planet10 points out). In that you should be able to assign inputs and outputs. The 2408 has three banks of 8 channels on input and on output, each of which can be assigned to the analog, TDIF or ADAT connectors.

[Edit] I should add that once you get the 324 set up with the 2408 you still need to select an output in the DAW.

the pci 324 is just an interconnect (basically a firewire card) for all motu a/d/a uits. in your DAW did you assign the proper outputs on your channels. on the motu console (gui) did you assign the proper outputs that you are using with your a/d/a??
was iut working before and not now??
dude

planet10 is on the money. More information is needed.

Digital or analog it doesn't matter. It is all gozinta and gozouta. With that in mind tell us physically how everything is connected in order. Then tell us how you have your input/output settings in the DAW and also in the MoTU gui (graphical user interface-that little icon in your system tray in the lower right hand corner).

It would be helpful for you to understand that a digital TDif db25 cable is not pinned the same as an analog db25 cable.

Additionally, there is this note from MOTU regarding some chipsets:

So fill us in on the tedious details and we can help you faster.
