Ah ya! and when it comes to moderators, more is better! Rainer (aka Big K) has been with RO since 2002 and its about time I asked him to join the ME team. He is very clever and extremely experienced in both ITB and OTB engineering and mastering. I'll let him tell you more if he has time.
We used to have 4 ME years back and I think we should do it again, so. .!

Big K, here's to ya ! So cool to have you as part of the team here.

Cheers!

Dynamic is no desease and does not need to be cured under all circumstances..lol..

Hello everybody and thank you for trusting me with the this job!

I insert this little picture for you to see how the new mod dude looks like.
He's a mean machine of considerable size and weight.... and (still) decent ears.
Born in Bavaria and runs his own studio in Munich, together with a publishing company and a
record label. Both of which are not very active, atm. ...
I decided to be more of a family man then I was in the years before...

I have spent the best part of my 50 years as Electronic Engineer, Musician, Audio Engineer and, since early '90s, as Mastering Engineer around Europe.
I play several music instruments (only reasonably well ), but use that now only to assist and coach bands through their productions.

I am looking foreward to some entertaining and interesting threads about (but not only ) mastering. I will try to moderate as unobstrusive and helpful as I can.
Just one thing: I am a fan of friendly and polite discussions and surely appreciate some word wit, but I can get real nasty ( a 20 stone nastiness..) if somebody
gets verbally abusive or intentionally spreads obvious nonsense and miss-information to confuse help-seeking members.

Kind regards,... good to be with you!
Big K ( Rainer Klaeger )

Hello S&S
Good to have you here!

After N.com went baracks style like in dry and humorless, I hardly visit it, anymore.
It used to be a great place for the whole Nuendo family, incl. black sheep and jokers, pros and amateurs.
Somehow they managed singlehandedly to ruin the place with strict rules. An Universe of knowledge lost to the community...
As I posted there, I am not used to being rebuked for going off-topic in my own thread for a few posts.
I am too old and too ..everything... to put up that childish behaviour from SB's side. If they ever wanted to fill the gap that opened
when so many longtime super-experienced users went away or didn't follow, Steinberg would have to employ an extra staff of 5 just to brake even...
Pitty...

Hello Chriss

A Nuendo forum would be great, but extremely demanding to maintain or to mod.
The guys who didn't follow to the new N. forum are largly the best and most knowledgeable users on earth.
Even better then some Steinbergers, themselves. One half hardly ever needs any advice and all of them want to help those with problems and questions.
Normally, that would be a great constellation for a forum, just there are not enough ppl with problems that the seasoned guys want to answer. Very much like: I have a mic ,.. what do I do?? Those questions are just too boring to keep them on the site. And then you have the ranters, and there are quite a few.
I can't stand ranting over problems that mostly are selfinduced. I feel a forum should not be the first adress to post problems, before I haven't switched on my own brain and checked the system for faults. Thus being able to provide more data on the problem for better analysis.

I could open a small Nuendo/Cubase help chapter for users on RO, though. Just maybe we get together a good bunch of members to interest others to join RO and the Nuendo group over a period of time. I guess, that is how many forums start up..
:-)
