preamp suggestion

Hey guys,
I'm about to get a new preamp and am looking for any suggestions.

So far I'm looking at either a Neve Portico half rack (pre/comp), a UA la-610, or maybe an api.

Any thoughts appreciated.

Code,
Lighten up. I'm just being bratty today. All in good fun, ya know.

The challenge was: could either of us get all 10 threads to say "Last Post by ________" at the same time.

Childish, I know. I need some real work to do at work! Opps, now I've gone and done it - the sh*t is gonna hit the fan.

It just did... I have to go clean up a mess in the men's room.

Peace & Grace

Awedone.

I wish more people would treat the forums like yourself.

It's about time some people entered into some discussion around here. Even if it is just to get your name in lights the only way you know how.

And we need random sarcasm. I miss Ms. David.

And yeah, who cares about jacking threads like this. The OP _STILL_ hasn't given any information which could help us to help him.

Anyone have a suggestion about the preamps I've listed, I'd appreciate that, and my price range is listed by the ones I've listed.

thanks

I think the point that they're getting at is that you haven't really given any information about what you're recording or what you're trying to accomplish.

There's a lot of ground out there..jazz, punk, classical, hip-hop, etc. Looking for big guitars, clean horns, phat drums....??

That wasn't necessary and I'm sorry your frustrated.
I may be a two time grammy winner who is just looking for friendly non-music gender biased opinions or suggestions about some gear.
Your head is there to think, not just to look ugly.

Thanks and this thread is history.

cotenyc,

Its an excellent question and I opened the thread hoping to see some good suggestions. You should really just ignore it though. I have found that this is an extremely poorly moderated forum and half the jerk offs that run away with your thread couldn't answer the question anyway. They are what you call "pretend pros". I see a lot of them here - probably 12 years old.

There are some really good recording forums out there though if you look around a bit. Try your question at http://www.gearslutz.com . They are considerably more professional over there and can actually provide and adult, educated answer.

Good luck with it!
