Metal Brothers/Sisters and fans of heavy music
I'm new and I need your help! I'm a young singer from Switzerland. Though I know how to sing, I really don't know how to mix and master the records.
Beside my band I'm working on a project where I cover a few songs and I need someone who wants to mix my vocals.
Feel free to mix the uploaded songs.
They're "Symptom of the Universe" by Black Sabbath and "Dazed and Confused" by Led Zeppelin.
I'll upload the best mix on my youtube channel and will certainly credit you with your full name (or the name you'll wish to be publicated)
I will even pay you a little compensation for your work (Paypal). Really not huge, but better than nothing.
Please note:
-Be fair. Do not upload the mixed songs without my permission to social platforms, Youtube or any other video/sound hosts.
Short: Do not publicate at all without asking!
-Some tracks at "dazed and confused" were out of step.
I fixed them but if you notice a part please feel free to correct them.
-I haven't sung the whole songs in one session.
It's possible that the volume of the tracks aren't equal because I accidentally changed
the level of the volume button on my interface.
Thanks for paying attention to that.
Listen first before mixing!
Here are the files to give a quick listen (mixed by me):
Symptom of the Universe

If you're not using cubase, here are the aligned tracks (you need to download the instrumental from the Cubase project above)
I'm thankful for any help and I'm very excited for your posts!
Thanks and horns up!

The OP has requested that this thread be deleted because he has found someone to mix the tracks. I'm not going to delete it though... while I found his initial post to be lacking some decorum; no TOS was violated.
To the OP: ( @Golden Eagle )
Deleting this thread will cause a "dead link" on search engines, something we don't like to do here on RO, because it can affect our internet search engine standing/ranking. If any of our other mods wants to delete the thread, that's their call, but I'm not gonna be the one to do it.
Besides, it's not our job to act as your screening service - or to allow you to post queries and then delete them at your whim.
The best way to handle this is, for everyone involved, is to simply post in this thread that you've found someone to take you up on the offer.

Glenn Fricker would have a ball with this one

Quick critique of your vocal on dazed and confused -- why the screaming? And why the screaming so immediately with no dynamic build up? The part is definitely at the top of your range - a little outside of it - and singers think they need to belt it out to hit those notes and the opposite happens - your voice tightens and you miss the notes. Music (good music) is about subtlety and dynamics --- Zeppelin and Jimmy talked about light and shade ---- Dazed and confused needs light and shade. You've seen this performance?
It's a masterful example of what makes this song work -- it's not all balls to the wall rock - it's light and shade.
The tracks themselves are fine - but that vocal comes in so hard and so out of tune (you just don't hit the notes) it makes you think the song is just going to be a waste of time. You need to really plot out the dynamics both instrumentally and vocally so the two come together. Even if someone fixes the tuning of the vocal it's still an all out balls to the wall scream fest which is so NOT what Zeppelin is about.
