Test report PreSonus Eris E8.
Just purchased them, and I’m running them in right now.
What can be said in this stage? Well, they sound powerful, and slightly American, ie.: a bit aggressive sometimes.
Why these monitors? I’m on a budget, and as it isn’t my way to earn money with music this price segment should do for me. I wanted monitors with 8 inch woofers, active and front loading ports. This last for practical reasons of being close to the backwall with my speakers. I wanted 8 inch woofers as I produce mostly electronic (pop) music. Active was just for convenience.
What do I think about them? They are very detailed, and pull your mix apart so you can hear every single detail in the mix. The tonal balance is all right and I have not found they are muddy, bright or bass heavy. The construction is more than OK for the price point and there are several controls on the back to compensate for room behavior if needed. There is a high level, mid level and bass compensation and roll off as well as input gain. The power switches are on the back, and that is not handy but I understand why: so you cannot switch them on or off per accidence. There is an unbalanced rca in, as well as balanced TRS and xlr.
I have a small music room compared to most, so they are seated on my desk on Auralex Mopads.
All in all nice monitors I bought in the black Friday sale for only € 379,=

Yup. Been using them to mix through fir the past few months, thanks to Dave Hawk (dvdhawk ) for allowing me to work with them.
Clear, accurate, and not as fatiguing as others I've worked with. I think you'll be happy working with them.
