I'm having an issue when importing sound/wav files. Whenever I import the file it seems Cubase is changing the files pitch. For instance I will practice a few times playing over the backing track. When I am ready to record I will import the backing track file onto an audio track and when I go to record the guitar part it sounds like crap. It sounds like the backing track has been raised in pitch or something. My guitar is totally out of tune/pitch with the backing track. This is most frustrating. Any ideas on what is causing this or how to fix it? :w:

The operating system is XP. I am using Cubase VST 5.1. I recorded the vave using Cool Edit Pro 2.0. To be truthful I didn't think about the sample rate. I was bringing the file into a new project and thought that cubase track would adjust to whatever the wave file was recorded at. I'll check it out.
Well, first off what version of Cubase? SX or the VST32 or what?
Well, first off what version of Cubase? SX or the VST32 or what? What operating system? What was the original backing track recorded on and what sample rate? Is it the same sampling rate as the current project in Cubase? That would be my only guess at the moment.
