Is this nifty little box also available in a keyboard version with a whole bunch of controls? If so: Where can I order it?? , Now that would be a useful thing.

This receptor does look interesting, but if you'd ask me its a 'halfway' solution. I really can't imagine this thing making my life easier. In the end, you're stuck with a GUI on yer computer monitor anyway. What does this thing do that I can't do in Cubase?

Yeah, to a certain extent you're right falkon, but I can use my laptop for the same thing. I use an USB soundcard and an evolution mk361 and I am able do play all the VST instruments I want live and apply all the effects I want (in fact, that's exactly what I did in the last string of gigs I had). It is also possible to use the laptop as an fx loop, no problem. The only advantage I see of this receptor thingy over a laptop is stability, although I have never had a single crash in the entire lifetime of this killer machine of mine ;) . If I did, I wouldn't have dared to go on stage with it....

Anyway, I would only see a substantial advantage if the thing would have keys and controllers. In that case, you could turn that single keyboard into any (set of) badass synth(s) you'd wish. :p I don't see why this wouldn't be possible...

In the end, it's all just a matter of opinion though. Whatever works for whoever.

Receptor is Muses answer to the UAD1. It's a hardware vst unit. So it's main goal is to lighten the load for your cpu. If you don't find that inticing, apperently you have plenty of cpu power. Personally I would welcome anything that will allow me to add more tracks and effects without bogging down my computer.

thnx hueseph

I like the way you described it compared to UAD

I showed the link to buddy online with lots of synths and he already had one ,,

any latency issues using one ?

and i guess i didnt read much on it, buit will it take any VST or is it proprietary to their unit ?

thanks again
